RE: Fallarme 2000 The Grand Reunion
Dear Fallarme relatives,
We all hope that all is well with your health and
love ones as we provide the correspondence letter from the organizing committee of
"The Fallarme Grand Reunion" to you, our relatives in the USA and Canada.
As might have been well informed, extensive
preparations have been implemented to make this grand event a memorable and rewarding
ecperience for all, both for the "balikbayans" and the loving relatives in the
Philippines. Unfortunately with preparation of all big events, one thing plays a big
factor; the results of which arises, either the "disgrace of failure" or the
continuance of a family legacy
.
The big factor is, ATTENDANCE!, ATTENDANCE!,
ATTENDANCE!,
As we commence to the final stages of
preparation of the Grand event, concerns from our relatives in the Philippines have
aroused in regards to honored attendance. Are we coming or not?
As we conflict among ourselves the cost of
plane tickets, the gifts and "special pasalubong" that we all purchase "as
caring balikbayan" to give to our loved ones back home (separate from contributions
for the Grand Reunion), the cost of transportation to Sibale, the cost of food, plus the
additional contributions we would like to sponsor during the Grand Reunion event, and most
certainly the amount of contribution we (relatives abroad) have to voluntary give. As
these thoughts might come across our mind, the time to schedule a trip to the Philippines
is slowly passing by
.
The days leading to the event is slowly ticking
away. These are all expensive factors that run in each of our thoughts process, perhaps
hindering our decisions to even speak about attending such an event in the Philippines.
Again, how will we approach the vacation days at work?, can our Partners / Employers /
co-workers really spare two weeks of our valuable time being absent? What will happen to
us when we arrive back from the two-weeks? Think of the Jet lag
recovery time of
another two-weeks
wow! Again it all seems a lot of resources drained from us
(balikbayan), financial and productive time.
Well with these points in consideration, Let us
look at another point of view
Let us take it, in view of our loved one in the
Philippines
When was the last time we visited the
Philippines?
Years, months, days
even if it was a month
ago
Isnt that an emotional strain for our remaining loved ones back in the
Philippines. Imagine, let us temporarily take the responsibility of "work" what
do we have left
friends and family
Work has preoccupied our daily thinking mind.
Life is not made of work along
life is being able to share the experience with family
and friends, that is the bottomline. That is why all loveing relatives want to see each
other again, that is all. It just so happens because we live in a material world, money or
equivalents sometimes comes to the picture. Yes it takes some much strain for the
"balikbayan" relatives in all forms of resources. But he! Imagine the love,
caring and smiling relatives as they wave goodbye to us in the Airport, Isnt that
reward enough.
It so happens we have a family event taking place
on MAY 5th, 2000, Will you be there to make it happen?
Your loving Relative
